Modi Nepal Visit: PM to be In Lumbini Tomorrow On Occasion Of Buddha Purnima — Details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nepal on Monday, May 16 to mark the occasion of Budhha Purnima. According to a press release by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi gave a departure statement in which he said, “I will be visiting Lumbini, Nepal on 16 May 2022 at the invitation of the Rt Hon’ble Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of Nepal.” He added, “I look forward to offering prayers at the Mayadevi Temple on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti. CNG Price Increased By Rs 2 Per Kg In Delhi-NCR From Today, Fourth Hike This Month — Check Latest Rates

The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs 2 per kilogram in Delhi-NCR, with effect from Sunday, May 15, at 6 am IST.  In less than six weeks, the CNG price has risen by Rs 17.6 per kilogram in the national capital. CNG is now priced at Rs 73.61 per kilogram in Delhi, Rs 76.17 per kilogram in Noida, and Rs 81.94 per kilogram in Gurugram, news agency ANI reported. This is the fourth price hike in the month of May, and the 11th since March 7.  The IGL has hiked gas prices in other parts of the country, including Rewari, Karnal, Kaithal, Kanpur, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Ajmer, Pali, and Rajsamand.  CNG is retailing at a price of Rs 84.07 in Rewari, Rs 82.27 in Karnal and Kaithal, Rs 85.40 in Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Fatehpur, and Rs 83.88 in Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand after the hike.  In October last year, domestic as well as international gas prices started to rise. India Covid Update: Active Cases Decline To 17,692. 13 Fresh Deaths Logged In Last 24 Hours

India reported 2,487 fresh Covid-19 cases, and 2,878 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in an update on Sunday, May 15. The country's active caseload currently stands at 17,692. The cumulative number of recoveries in India is 4,25,79,693. The recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.  With 13 fresh deaths occurring on Saturday, the total number of deaths that have occurred in India so far is 5,24,214.  The total number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours is 4,05,156. As many as 1,91,32,94,864 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. The daily and weekly positivity rates stand at 0.61 and 0.62 per cent, respectively.  A total of 84.38 tests have been conducted so far. Andrew Symonds Death: VVS Laxman, Kohli, Shoaib Among Cricketers Mourning 'Shocking' Demise Of Aussie All-Rounder

Cricket fraternity mourned the tragic demise of former Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds, who died in a car accident on Saturday night.  According to the police statement, Symonds, aged 46, died in a car accident on Hervey Range Road near the Alice River Bridge in Queensland, Australia when his car left the road and rolled.  Former India batter and current National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman said, "Shocking news to wake up to here in India. Rest in peace, my dear friend. Such tragic news." Ex India skipper Virat Kohli also offered his condolences as he wrote: "Shocking and saddening to hear of Andrew Symonds passing. May his soul RIP and God give strength to his family in this difficult moment." As per a Queensland police statement, Symonds was in a single-car crash at about 10:30 pm.
